I’m Tracy Villarreal, the owner, content editor, and writer for the Fishing In Kayaks site. I have over 30 years of experience fishing at beaches, piers, and shorelines and have written professionally in the fishing and boating sector since 2018.
I was born and raised on the Texas coast. I enjoy fishing from boats, kayaks, piers, and shorelines for a variety of fish species such as redfish, bass, trout, flounder, and big drum (like you see here).
I got my start in the great sport of fishing when Dad would take us with him all around Padre Island or Corpus Christi Bay.
Today, I’ll be kayak fishing on the Texas coast from Galveston Bay to upper Laguna Madre. I also will adventure inland and try my hand at bass fishing in lakes or rivers!
For the last 3 years I have been fishing in top-of-the-line kayaks like the Hobie Pro Angler 12, Pro Anger 14 360, Native Watercraft Titan 12, and the Jackson Big Rig FD.
I’m an IT professional by trade with over 30 years of experience at some well-known companies in oil and gas, telecommunications, and computer-related manufacturers.
Fishing and kayaking out on the water are my real passions. I will continue trying various products, accessories, and techniques in an effort to provide honest reviews that help you decide what’s best for your own needs!
